Sample Reading: The Festival Journey
Once upon a time, in a beautiful village near the Himalayas, there lived a young girl named Priya. Priya loved to explore the green fields and mango orchards near her home. She enjoyed watching peacocks dance in the rain and listening to the songs of koels in the morning. One bright Diwali morning, while helping her mother make rangoli, she noticed a golden butterfly flying towards the old banyan tree.
Curious, Priya followed the butterfly through the village lanes. She passed by the temple where the priest was ringing bells, crossed the bridge over the small river, and reached the ancient banyan tree at the edge of their farmland. Under the tree, she found a beautiful brass lamp buried in the soil. When she cleaned it, she discovered it was decorated with images of elephants and lotus flowers. Her grandfather told her it belonged to their ancestors and was used during special pujas.
That evening, Priya's whole family gathered to celebrate Diwali. They lit diyas all around the house, burst colourful crackers, and shared delicious sweets like gulab jamun and jalebi with their neighbours. Priya placed the ancient lamp at the centre of their home shrine. As its warm glow filled the room, she felt connected to all the generations of her family who had celebrated this festival of lights before her.
